The direct financing of "synergistic initiatives" with the activities of the Global Fund carried out in the beneficiary countries of funds donated by the Global Fund, is one of the mechanisms by which the Italian Cooperation (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Cooperation Agency alla Sviluppo) supports the action of the Global Fund to combat AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Through a total contribution of approximately € 1.1 million, the initiatives currently underway in Tanzania are the following:
- Community approach to the integration of TB / HIV strategies - (CBTHI Project). (World Center for Mutual Development - CMSR ETS ODV NGO)
- Kwa Afya Njema - securing the last mile through community / KAN approach. (Emerging Countries Cooperation - COPE)
- Improve the health and well-being of HIV-infected adolescents and young adults through research and a health systems strengthening approach. (Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine (DMSC), University of Florence)
