Ho tre figli.

''My name is Said Khamis Said, but I prefer to be called Bruno - like my father, Captain Bruno. He was a very well-known captain, but he retired in 2012. I’m 39 years old, and I was born in Mombasa. I have three children. I am the chairman of Nyali Beach Management Unit since 2016. The members of the cooperative periodically elect their chairman, and elections should take place every four years, but we still need to do them since 2016. Anyway, I hope I will be re-elected next time. My duties include making sure that each member of the cooperative works according to the law and doing my best to ensure that fishermen are well equipped and well trained to go fishing. Our Unit is composed of 190 members approximately, both men and women. We experience some challenges: we lack boats, equipment and storage facilities. Sometimes we come back from the ocean with many tonnes of fish, but then we have to leave it because we do not have cold storage facilities to preserve it. Also, fishermen are not aware of many issues and they would need training on subjects like value addition along the value chain. I know these challenges very well because I also work as a fisherman, and I love it: it is a good business, even if we work very hard. Normally we go fishing at around 4:30 AM and come back at 7 AM, but working hours depend on the tides. During high season, we may also go back for fishing in the afternoon. I learnt fishing from my father, Captain Bruno: we used to go fishing together when I didn't have to go to school on Saturdays and Sundays, that’s when I would go with him and that's where my passion for fishing began. I would like my kids to become fishermen one day.''
